I was thinking about the original of this this portrait that I took in Maui last year (which can be seen in this gallery, and realized I needed to to convey more of the day-dreaming aspect of the portrait. Of course after days of seeing whales breaching the seas off Maui, once you get back Stateside you catch yourself in moments of boredom - like at work! - dreaming about being back in Maui and seeing the whales. That's why I put one of my photos of a whale flue in the model's sunglasses in the first place, but the message was not so obvious. So I pulled out the crop tool and went at it! Now you can understand why I call this portrait "Dreaming of Maui".
